Meaning and explanation of different passport status
You can check the status of your passport application online, including whether your passport has been printed or if there are any errors in your application.
1. Pending for Police Approval
Your application is currently pending for police verification and report receipt. If the applicant’s current address and permanent address are different, it takes more time to investigate at different addresses.
2. Pending for Backend Verification
Pending for Backend Verification means that the information you provided in your passport application is being checked at the central level. To send the passport application to the printing branch in Dhaka, all the information is checked again to make sure it is correct. This is usually not a problem. It usually takes 2-3 days to complete.
3. Payment Verification Result- Name Mismatch
A discrepancy has been found in the spelling of the name submitted with the payment and the name on the passport application. For this issue, please contact the passport office immediately with your passport receipt, copy of national identity card or birth registration certificate.
4. Your application is pending on payment investigation (Amount mismatch or Reference number mismatch)
A discrepancy has been found in the amount of money deposited in your challan or the amount of money in the challan copy and the amount of passport application fee. For this issue, please contact the passport office immediately with your passport receipt and challan copy.
5. Pending of Assistant Director/ Deputy Director Approval
A passport application will be checked by an Assistant Director/Deputy Director. It will remain in this status until the officer approves it. This step can take up to 5/6 days to complete. If more than 3 weeks have passed, it means that the police verification report has not yet reached the passport office. This is why the approval by the Assistant Director/Deputy Director is taking longer.
6. Pending for Passport Personalization
In this step, the following tasks are completed: Laser Engraving, HD DOD Color Inject Printing, Security Lamination, Inline Quality Control (Optical and Electronic), RFID Encoding.
7. In Printer Queue
Your passport is pending for printing at the printing branch.
8. Printing Succeeded
Your passport has been successfully printed. It is now being sent to the Quality Control department for inspection.
9. PQC Succeed, Ready for Dispatch
Once the Quality Control department has approved your passport, it will be sent to the passport office where you applied. You will be notified when your passport is ready for pickup.
10. Passport is Ready, Pending for Issuance
It usually takes 4-5 days for a passport to be sent from Dhaka to the passport office where you applied. Once it arrives at the passport office, it is ready to be distributed. You will then receive an SMS notification on your mobile phone informing you that your passport is ready for pickup. If you do not receive an SMS notification, please wait for 2 working days.
