Importance of Qurbani and Eid ul-Adha in the Life of a Believer
Eid-ul-Adha and Qurbani are important religious festivals for Muslims. This festival carries a lot of importance in the life of believers.
The only worship in the life of a believer is to gain nearness to God Almighty. Sacrifice is indeed an important means of gaining nearness to Allah. By making Qurbani, the believers dedicate their wealth, lives, desires and desires to Allah. It removes miserliness and jealousy from the hearts of believers and makes them obedient and devoted to Allah.
Through the celebration of Eid-ul-Adha, the pious Muslims of the world carry the noble memory of the incomparable loyalty and great sacrifice of Allah’s beloved servants and Prophets, Hazrat Ibrahim (a.s.) and Hazrat Ismail (a.s.). Hazrat Ibrahim (a.s.) was ready to sacrifice his beloved son Hazrat Ismail (a.s.) at the command of Allah. But by the grace of Allah, at the last moment, a Dumba was sacrificed instead of Hazrat Ismail (A.S.). From this incident, the believers learn that everything can be sacrificed for the sake of Allah.
Hadith narrated about Eid
Narrated by Hazrat Anas (Ra), He said: When the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, migrated to Madinah, the people of Madinah had two festivals. The Messenger of Allah, may God bless him and grant him peace, asked them, What are these two days? (Why do you celebrate these two days of festival?) They said We used to celebrate these two days in the pre-Islamic era. Then the Messenger of Allah, Hazrat Muhammad (SM) said, “Allah has given you two better days instead of these two – Eid-ul-Azha and Eid-ul-Fitr.” (Sunan Abu Dawud, Hadith 1134; Sunan Nasa’i, Hadith 1556; Musnad Ahmad, Hadith 12006)
